This application is one of the most logical uses of my PDA in the classroom. What a motivational tool! Kids will do anything to get to use it. Even practicing facts feels like a handheld game to them. The only trouble is we need one handheld for every student. It is personal, responsive, and reinforcing. This would be a great "Rainy-day-recess" activity. QuizApp is an excellent application for kids to practice concepts, rules, math facts, definitions, vocabulary, states, countries, and state and world capitols... or whatever you would like to set up as a module for your particular class or setting.

Customizing
Teachers can make custom quizzes by selecting questions from certain categories. Customizing a quiz is great to concentrate on specific topics in a module. Each test gives you the total questions in the module and a prompt to set the number of questions you wish to be quizzed on. Users can even add notes or comments to questions or flashcards.

Comprehensive Scoring And Feedback
QuizApp breaks down right and wrong answers by category allowing you to isolate your strongest and weakest areas of knowledge. After answering the question in a multiple-choice module you get a prompt such as "The correct answer is C" or in flashcards the prompt is just the correct answer. You can go back and try it again or go on to the next question. At the end of the test the student gets feed back showing how well he or she by the session statistics or the percentage scored correctly.

Search For The Right Questions
QuizApp even has a search if you are wishing to find all problems or questions on a specific topic such as fractions, math, language, states, etc. This would be handy for students wishing to drill or practice specific topics. Search for all the modules in a certain category, or a single module for key words or phrases.

Create Your Own Modules
QuizApp Flashcard Module Creator and a Multiple Choice Module Creator are available for teachers to develop their own flashcards and multiple-choice quizzes. These are set up in Excel and easy to follow. You then email them to QuizApp, who will make up the module following your module template. This should be reasonably easy and would offer an excellent quiz module for your students that will fit your curriculum and support your learning goals.

Beam To Friends
Modules can be quickly and easily shared or transferred to your friends and colleagues by tapping the Beam button on the main application screen.

Cons
The only problem I found was... when questions are longer or have more words, the small screen doesn't leave room for all the choices in a multiple-choice test. This may cause you to miss the answer because you didn't scroll down far enough to see the next choice (usually the "D" choice in a multiple-choice question)

I Recommend It
QuizApp is user friendly. You can download it simply and start using it in class right away. I recommend you add it to your bag of tricks in class. This will give kids another way to practice, become proficient with their skills, and improve literacy in your classroom.
